Reno Drill Class - Friday, April 24, 2026
RAY TABER FOUNDATION
Presents its Free Annual
Reno Drill Class
WHEN: Friday, April 24, 2026, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
WHERE: University of Nevada Reno - Knudtsen Resource Center Building
KRC 104 -105 and field nearby
Join us for field demonstrations of solid and hollow auger drilling, mud rotary drilling, electronic testing such as CPT and surface seismic, geotechnical sampling and logging and an opportunity to meet local geoscience firms. We like to call it a "Day of Opportunity" to see and touch the tools that are fundamental to geotechnical data gathering and evaluation and hear first-hand insights from current practitioners in the industry. Free light breakfast items and lunch are served. If you have dietary restrictions, we recommend you bring your own food.
Parking: students, sponsors, and presenters can park on Valley Road, adjacent to the Knudtsen Resource Center.
Please bring a hard hat and safety vest if you have them. If not, you will likely be able to borrow (although our supply is limited). Additionally, please dress prepared for outdoor field conditions such as cold, rain, and mud.
